Meet the Bali 4.5 Catamaran
For anyone who has enjoyed the luxury of a Lagoon and thought 'it doesn't get better than this' think again! In 2017, the Bali 4.5 is landing on Croatian shores (figuratively speaking, of course). This gorgeous yacht will be based at Split Kastela, the perfect starting place for exploring the stunning Dalmatian Islands, and our sailors most popular start base.
What's the big deal?
Launching in 2017 the Bali 4.5 catamaran takes sailing in comfort to new levels. The large windows offer panoramic views of your surroundings whilst the open plan living area offers unbeatable access to the sea. The space flows seamlessly between inside and out offering an incredible amount of living space. The sleek design is combined with brilliant performance and impeccable safety.
Our Favourite Features
- - A forward cockpit with dining area and gigantic sunbathing area (20m²) in place of the traditional trampoline
- - An aft cockpit with lounger, equipped with LEDs, entirely flush-deck, complete with a folding table
- - A sunbathing area on the coachroof
- - Incredible air flow through the saloon due to the large retractable windows
- - Exceptional light and a panoramic view thanks to the numerous large openings in the saloon
- - A level of equipment to please even the most enthusiastic of sailors
- - A sleek interior designed for living arranged as you would at home (arguably better...)
The Bali 4.5 Layout
This model features a four double ensuite cabin design, as well as additional crew cabins, with separate access at the front of each hull. Coming up the stairs from below deck is where the magic really begins.
The kitchen and interior living space opens seamlessly on to the rear deck where you are welcomed by an expansive al fresco dining area. In case you weren't already spoilt for choices of space to enjoy there is an additional sunken cockpit area on the foredeck (trampolines are so 2016...). This brilliant space has removeable tables allowing you to turn it from cockpit into an additional sunbathing/ lounging area.
The front windows open wide allowing those lounging to chat freely to the unlucky galley slave (although with a view like this we wouldn't complain...). Ideal if you have a crew of both sun worshippers and shade seekers.
By now you can probably tell it is a gin and tonic sipping sunbather, rather than a sailor, writing this article...so here are a few features for the real sea dogs out there. There is a fully-battened mainsail with lazy jacks, ready and waiting to capture the exhilarating afternoon breezes, common along the Croatian coast. In the event that the wind isn't playing ball there are twin 55 horse power engines.
There is a raised fly bridge for the illustrious skipper offering an excellent view of all four corners of the yacht. This area (unsurprisingly) features all the mod cons including autopilot, GPS chart plotter and controls for the all important bow thrusters. The miniscule 1.25 metre draft and minimal displacement is not only great for speed, but also means that scooping that sought after anchoring spot, closest to the beach has never been easier.
