Enjoy the luxury of a floating villa...
Meet Aurous! She is a gorgeous 52ft catamaran who spends her summers gently meandering between the Ionian Islands. A week on board Aurous combines the freedom of a sailing holiday with the comfort of a luxury villa holiday.
A floating chalet
If you are partial to a winter chalet holiday in the Alps, and struggle to find something quite as good in the summer, this could be the answer to your problems! With gorgeous and comfortable accommodation, a brilliant ‘swim in swim out’ location and fantastic hosts Aurous really is akin to a luxury chalet on the water.
There was a time when a sailing holiday meant pokey cabins and pumping toilets – this has changed a little. Aurous has 5 ensuite cabins, interior and exterior dining for up to 10 people, a fly-bridge ‘roof terrace’ and helm. Aforementioned en-suite cabins are cleaned each day, and linen is changed twice a week. Not sold...did we mention the king-sized beds and air-conditioning?
Far from your normal sailing holiday where you self-cater, Aurous has a brilliant skipper and hostess to cater for your every need. From a delicious breakfast in the morning, to a comprehensive wine list for when it gets to that time of day, you couldn’t be better looked after! When it comes to dinner you can either eat on board or try out the local tavernas – in our eyes it’d be criminal not to step off and explore the ambient local eateries but, in luxury like this, we could forgive you for enjoying a night on board!
Sailing, Sunbathing, Dolphin Watching...
If you’re worried that having a crew means you’ll get less of the action you couldn’t be more wrong! Aurous has an array of activities on board. The gorgeous sundeck and trampolines provide tremendous dolphin watching opportunities and if that becomes tedious there are always the Stand Up Paddleboards and windsurfers to play with. If this still doesn’t tickle your adrenalin seeking taste buds there is also wakeboarding and water-skiing on offer.
There is also the small factor of sailing from place to place of course, with a different view, visiting different places each day. The beauty of having a skipper and hostess means that you can be as hands on or hands off as you like.
The Ionian Islands of Greece
The Ionian Islands is one of the most beautiful sailing arenas in the world. No tide or current, reliable weather, wonderful locals and of course fabulous tavernas for eating out. Aurous is based on the island of Corfu which offers brilliant flight and cruising route options.
From Corfu you will either head north to the Faraway Islands of Ericousa, Othoni and explore northern Corfu – affectionately known as ‘Kensington on Sea’. The alternative is to head south and explore the turquoise waters of Paxos, Anti-Paxos and the Greek Mainland.
