Spetses is a lovely island on the Saronic gulf and popular for tourists and locals alike. The main town has a lovely promenade with many shops, restaurants and bars and many beaches and secluded bays where you can really relax.
In medieval times the island was busy with trade and the locals designed and made some beautiful mansions which can still be found on the island till today. These are great to visit if you are really into your architecture and Greek History. The island is also host to the Armata festival which takes place on the second weekend of September. The burning of boat commences in commemoration of a naval flight between Greeks and Turks.
