Sveti Klement is the largest island of the Pakleni Islands. An attractive island which boasts sandy coves and pine backed beaches. The Meneghello family have lived on the island since the 19th century and have forged a pretty and lush botanic garden with villas, bungalows and a renowned restaurant.
This small group of islands lie off Hvar Town, and often form the photographic backdrop to thousands of photos taken from Hvar and in particular, Hvar Fortress.
On the island of Sveti Klement you will find the small town of Palmižana which is surrounded by a green pine forest and home to a clutch of elegant villas. The bays in the Pakleni Islands are amongst some of the most beautiful in the Adriatic.
A nice trip from Palmižana is to walk, or if you would prefer to sail (who can blame you) there are moorings available, to Vinogradisce. This is a charming and picturesque sandy bay with restaurants serving drinks, food and playing music.
When on the Pakleni Islands, just relax, anchor and enjoy swimming in the clear sea before spending a lively evening in the town of Hvar, either by taking a water taxi or sailing the 3nm.
